What Are We Raising Money For? β€οΈπ€
You may be wondering, why is our Hawk Hustle goal $30,000?
Earlier this fall, HGES families were asked to share their thoughts about what could be next for our school. Several exciting possibilities are being considered, and funds raised through Hawk Hustle can help the PTO support future projects, improvements and experiences for our students.
Some of the ideas include:
- βΎ Softball and baseball fields with a walking/running path, potentially in partnership with Dunlap REC
- π« School entryway improvements, including Hawk artwork, custom mats, furniture and dΓ©cor
- π New custom gym mats and a Hawk mural to replace aging or damaged mats and add additional protection for students
- π£ Digital signage to share school announcements, events, accomplishments and other important information with our community
These are potential future projects, not a promise that Hawk Hustle funds will be used for one specific project. The goal is to give our PTO the resources to continue investing in HGES, our students and the experiences that make our school special.
π² September 30 β Registration Is Open
Families can now register their students at MyBooster.com
Registration is simple, and the site will walk you through each step. You can register now, but fundraising does not begin until October 14.
π October 14 β Fundraising Kickoff
On October 14, student fundraising links will go live. Families who choose to participate in fundraising can begin sharing their student’s link with friends and family and collecting donations.
Students who raise money will also have opportunities to earn prizes at different fundraising levels.
During the school days leading up to Hawk Hustle, students will participate in the program at school, including Kitchen Club videos featuring character traits, fun activities and recipes.
π October 27 β Hawk Hustle Fun Run!
Ready, Set, SOAR! π¦
The Hawk Hustle Fun Run will take place during the school day on October 27 and is an in-school event for students only. The Fun Run will be operated by MyBooster staff.
Most importantly, EVERY HGES student gets to participate!
Fundraising is completely optional. Students do not have to register, collect donations or raise a certain amount of money to participate in the Fun Run.
More Information Is Coming!
Teachers have received informational packets and are prepared to help families throughout the program. Mr. Etnyre will also be sending a series of informational emails, and additional information will be sent home with students, including a lanyard with a scannable code that will connect families to instructions and Hawk Hustle information.
Our goal may be $30,000, but this is about more than a number. It’s about what we can do together for our kids and what could be next for HGES.
Big ideas take all of us. Ready, Set, SOAR, Hawks! π¦ β€οΈπ€
